Ingredients

- 1 (18 1/4 ounce) chocolate cake mix
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
- 1 (12 ounce) cherry pastry filling (not pie filling)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 combine cake mix and cocoa.
- 3 cut in butter until crumbly.
- 4 add eggs and cherry juice; mix well.
- 5 spread half in a greased 13 x 9" metal pan.
- 6 drop pastry filling by small spoonfuls to within 1/2" of edges. spread gently to cover chocolate mixture.
- 7 drop remaining chocolate mixture by small spoonfuls and gently spread to cover filling. make sure it touches the pan on all sides or it will shrink when it bakes.
- 8 bake 25 - 28 minutes.
