Cornmeal Muffins (pre-1940's)

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fat (crisco)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Recipe

  • 1 mix and sift dry ingredients.
  • 2 add gradually milk and eggs beaten.
  • 3 add fat.
  • 4 bake in greased muffin pans in hot oven 400 degrees for aprox 25 minutes.
