Berry Breakfast Power Bar

Ingredients

- 250 g dessert apples, chopped
- 30 ml lemon juice
- 150 g soft margarine (olive or vegetable)
- 75 g dark brown sugar
- 75 g golden syrup
- 325 g oats
- 15 g oat bran
- 25 g ground flax seeds
- 40 g dried cranberries
- 20 g dried blueberries
- 20 g sesame seeds
- 30 g sunflower seeds
- 50 g brazil nuts (shaved)
Recipe
- 1 bring apples to boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until soft.
- 2 melt margarine, sugar & syrup in a large saucepan, then remove from heat.
- 3 add berries to hot mixture to allow time to plump up.
- 4 add all other ingredients. mix well.
- 5 pat into 30cm x 20cm (12" x 8")pan.
- 6 bake @ 180c for 25 minutes.
- 7 allow to cool for 15mins before cutting and removing from pan onto cooling rack.
