Apples-on-the-bottom Cobbler

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons chilled shortening (divided) or 4 tablespoons margarine (divided)
  • 1/2 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 pour filling into 9" square baking dish. dot the top with 1 tbsp margarine.
  • 3 in a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • 4 cut in the margarine. work until dough is lumpy.
  • 5 add the milk. mix into pasty dough.
  • 6 dab dough on top of apples.
  • 7 bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and delicious.
