Apples-on-the-bottom Cobbler

Ingredients

- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can apple pie filling
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons chilled shortening (divided) or 4 tablespoons margarine (divided)
- 1/2 cup milk
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- 2 pour filling into 9" square baking dish. dot the top with 1 tbsp margarine.
- 3 in a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 4 cut in the margarine. work until dough is lumpy.
- 5 add the milk. mix into pasty dough.
- 6 dab dough on top of apples.
- 7 bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and delicious.
