Baba Garman's Icebox Dessert

Ingredients

• Servings: 12
• 6 egg whites
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 2 cups saltines, crackers. crushed
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
• 1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling
• 2 (2 1/2 ounce) envelopes dream whip, prepared

Recipe

• 1 whip egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar till thick like meringue. fold in the vanilla, crushed saltines and nuts. pat into the bottom of a 13/9 greased glass baking dish and bake at 350* for 25 minutes. cool well.
• 2 when cold, top with the pie filling and dream whip.
• 3 garnish with additional finely chopped walnuts if desired.
