Apidea - Greek Pear Dessert

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 pears
  • 750 ml red wine
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 cloves

Recipe

  • 1 carefully peel the pears taking care not to remove the stalk.
  • 2 place the pears upright in a pan; add the wine and the sugar.
  • 3 gently simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
  • 4 add the cinnamon stick and the cloves and continue to simmer for a further 20 minutes.
  • 5 remove from heat and let cool.
  • 6 serve the pears cold drizzled with the wine sauce from the pan.
