Bistro Blend Rice Medley (mix)

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain brown rice
  • 1 cup unhulled short grain red rice
  • 1 cup wild rice (black)
  • 1 cup wheat berries

Recipe

  • 1 combine ingredients in a bowl and transfer to an airtight container.
  • 2 to prepare: place 2 cups of filtered water and 1 cup of the rice/grain mix in a saucepan. (note: stock or broth can replace the water, depending on your menu.).
  • 3 bring water to boil, reduce heat and simmer 50 minutes.
  • 4 once rice is cooked, remove pot from the burner and set aside, covered for 15 minutes.
  • 5 if desired, season with salt and pepper. if you want to stir in a little bit of extra virgin olive oil to the rice, be my guest.
