Baked Caramel Apple Pudding

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup plain flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped apples (with or without peels)
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/4 cup softened butter or 1/4 cup margarine
- 3/4 cup boiling water
Recipe
- 1 for pudding: combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, milk, and apples in a medium mixing bowl until well blended.
- 2 preheat oven to 375°f.
- 3 spread in a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole or 1-9 inch square or round, greased, metal baking pan.
- 4 for sauce: mix brown sugar, butter, and water. stir until butter is melted.
- 5 pour sauce over pudding batter and bake for 40-50 minutes until brown and set.
- 6 serve with ice cream, heavy whipped cream or let it stand on it's own.
