Country Skillet

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb kielbasa, fully cooked, cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
  • 1 (4 1/2 ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 cup uncooked instant rice
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet, cook sausage and onion in oil until onion is tender, drain.
  • 2 combine the water, soup, basil, thyme, and pepper and add to skillet.
  • 3 stir in broccoli and mushrooms, and bring to a boil.
  • 4 stir in rice.
  • 5 cover and remove from the heat, let stand 5-7 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • 6 sprinkle with cheese.
