Country Pie

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese or 1 cup monterey jack cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/3 cups minute rice

Recipe

  • 1 combine crust ingredients and mix well. pat meat mix into bottom of pie dish. pinch 1-inch fluting around edges. set aside.
  • 2 combine minute rice, spaghetti sauce, water, salt and 1/4 cup of cheese. spoon mix into meat shell. cover with aluminum foil. bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • 3 uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese. return to oven and bake uncovered 10 to 15 minutes. cut into pie-shaped pieces and serve.
