Baked Parmesan Macaroni

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk, heated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash tabasco sauce
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated romano cheese
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 heat butter in a saucepan until melted; stir in flour until smooth.
  • 2 cook, stirring, over low heat until the flour is cooked, about 3 minutes.
  • 3 gradually stir in the hot milk until smooth.
  • 4 cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and is thickened.
  • 5 cook, stirring frequently over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • 6 meanwhile cook the macaroni on plenty of salted boiling water. drain.
  • 7 combine the sauce, pasta, romano and parmesan cheeses.
  • 8 pour into a buttered 9x13 inch baking dish. sprinkle the top with mozzarella cheese.
  • 9 bake for 45 minutes at 350 until top is browned and bubbly.
