Apple Walnut Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup calorie reduced margarine
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3/4 cup splenda sugar substitute
- 1 large apple, unpeeled, grated
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped, divided
Recipe
- 1 stir together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. beat margarine until smooth. add eggs and vanilla and beat well. beat in splenda for about 1 minute. add flour mixture, apple and applesauce; beat until well blended, stir in walnuts.
- 2 spread evenly in greased 8-inch square baking pan. sprinkle with remaining nuts. bake at 350f for about 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean, cool, cut into bars.
