Almond-coconut Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped almonds
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
Recipe
- 1 crust: mix flour and sugar.
- 2 cut in the margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3 press firmly into a greased and floured 9 inch square cake pan.
- 4 bake at 375°f for 15 minutes.
- 5 topping: combine eggs, sugar, surup, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and beat together.
- 6 stir in the nuts and coconut.
- 7 spread evenly over the crust.
- 8 bake for 20-25 minutes or until set and golden.
- 9 cool thoroughly before cutting.
