Almond Flavor Sugar Cookie

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 lb butter, softened (1 stick)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk (or water)
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Recipe
- 1 in medium bowl mix dry ingredients. set aside.
- 2 in large bowl cream butter and sugar with a mixer until fluffy. add egg, milk and almond extract and beat well.
- 3 add the dry ingredients 1/3 at a time into butter sugar mixture, mixing until well blended.
- 4 wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least a 1/2 an hour before rolling out.
- 5 preheat oven to 360 degrees.
- 6 on a lightly floured surface, roll out 1/3 of the dough at a time. roll to 1/8 inch thick and cut out with cookie cutters.
- 7 bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 5-7 minutes. do not allow to brown.
- 8 cool on wire racks and frost with your favorite icing.
