Cornmeal Pie

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons cornmeal
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pie shell
- meringue
- 2 egg whites
- 4 tablespoons sugar
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- 2 mix cornmeal and sugar together.
- 3 add to next 4 ingredients.
- 4 cook over medium heat stirring constantly until boiling and thickens.
- 5 remove from heat and pour into pie shell.
- 6 add meringue (instructions to follow).
- 7 bake for 5 minutes or until meringue is golden brown.
- 8 meringue.
- 9 beat egg whites until frothy.
- 10 gradually beat in sugar.
- 11 continue beating until stiff peaks form.
- 12 spread over pie filling.
