Banana Chocolate Loaf

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups pastry flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup mashed banana
- 1/2 cup chocolate, chopped, plus some
- chocolate, for drizzling
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f grease and flour a 6 ½ x 3-inch loaf pan.
- 2 cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- 3 in a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. add to creamed mixture alternately with banana.
- 4 fold in chopped chocolate. scrape batter into pan and spread evenly.
- 5 bake for 30 minutes until a tester inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- 6 allow to cool 10 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a plate.
- 7 to assemble.
- 8 melt chocolate and drizzle on to cake.
