Cottage Cheese Clafouti

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon butter, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Recipe
- 1 position rack in center of oven and preheat to 425 degrees.
- 2 spread butter over the bottom and sides of a 2 quart souffle dish and dust with 1 tablespoon sugar.
- 3 combine all remaining ingredients except cottage cheese and 1 tablespoon sugar in blender and blend until smooth.
- 4 add cheese and blend at low speed just until mixed, about 5 seconds.
- 5 pour custard into prepared dish.
- 6 and bake for 30 minutes.
- 7 lower oven temperature to 350 and bake 10 minutes longer.
- 8 sprinkle custard with 1 tablespoon sugar.
- 9 bake for 5 more minutes.
- 10 remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before serving.
