Coq Au Vin

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 1/2 lbs chicken parts, skin removed
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 14 ounces canned tomatoes, with juice,mashed
- 2 cups mushrooms, small whole fresh
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup red
Recipe
- 1 melt margarine in frying pan.
- 2 dip chicken in flour.
- 3 brown both sides of chicken in margarine.
- 4 transfer chicken to ungreased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
- 5 add onion to pan; saute till browned.
- 6 add next 7 ingredients to onion; stir; cover.
- 7 cook slowly for 5 minutes.
- 8 discard bay leaf.
- 9 stir in .
- 10 pour over chicken; cover.
- 11 bake in 350f over for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until tender.
