Big Bean Bake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 5 -6 slices bacon
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained & rinsed
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans butter beans, drained & rinsed
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans lamb & beans

Recipe

  • 1 fry bacon, drain and set aside.
  • 2 brown ground beef with onion and garlic over medium heat.
  • 3 combine ketchup, brown sugar, salt and vinegar, and add to the beef mixture.
  • 4 add the beans and combine thoroughly in an oven proof baking dish. top with crumbled bacon.
  • 5 bake covered at 350 deg for 45 minutes. (black beans can be substituted for kidney or butter beans, or added to the recipe.).
