Apple Cake

Ingredients

• 3 tablespoons butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 cup all-purpose flour or 1 cup whole wheat flour
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 3 cups apples, diced and peeled
• 1/4 cup nuts, chopped
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• whipped cream or ice cream

Recipe

• 1 in a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and egg.
• 2 stir together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture (batter will be thick).
• 3 stir in the apples, nuts and vanilla.
• 4 spread into a greased 8 inch square baking pan.
• 5 bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until cake tests done.
• 6 serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
