Black Walnut Cottage Pudding

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup chopped black walnut
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
Recipe
- 1 cream the butter with sugar.
- 2 add the egg and beat thoroughly.
- 3 sift the flour with baking powder and salt.
- 4 add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the creamed butter mixture.
- 5 add the walnuts and flavoring.
- 6 mix thoroughly and pour into a shallow, well-oiled baking pan.
- 7 bake in moderate oven (375°f) for 30 minutes.
