Ingredients

- 1 package yellow cake mix
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup water
- 4 eggs
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 mix cake mix, pudding, and shortening on low speed until crumbly.
- 2 add the water and eggs.
- 3 beat on medium for 2 minutes.
- 4 pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan.
- 5 bake a 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
- 6 cool for 10 minutes.
- 7 in a saucepan combine flour and milk until smooth.
- 8 bring to a boil.
- 9 cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- 10 cool completely.
- 11 cream butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- 12 beat in milk mixture until sugar is disolved, about 5 minutes.
- 13 split cake into 2 horizontal layers.
- 14 spread filling over the bottom layer.
- 15 replace top layer.
