Cream Cake Dessert

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 mix cake mix, pudding, and shortening on low speed until crumbly.
  • 2 add the water and eggs.
  • 3 beat on medium for 2 minutes.
  • 4 pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan.
  • 5 bake a 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
  • 6 cool for 10 minutes.
  • 7 in a saucepan combine flour and milk until smooth.
  • 8 bring to a boil.
  • 9 cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • 10 cool completely.
  • 11 cream butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  • 12 beat in milk mixture until sugar is disolved, about 5 minutes.
  • 13 split cake into 2 horizontal layers.
  • 14 spread filling over the bottom layer.
  • 15 replace top layer.
