Almond Toffee Triangles

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup karo light corn syrup or 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup karo light corn syrup or 1/3 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sliced almonds
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350.
- 2 grease jelly roll pan.
- 3 mix brown sugar, margarine, syrup, egg and vanilla.
- 4 stir in flour and salt.
- 5 spread dough in pan.
- 6 bake until light golden brown- 18-20 minutes.
- 7 prepare topping by: cook and stir brown sugar and syrup over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
- 8 stir in margarine and cream.
- 9 heat to boiling, then remove from heat.
- 10 stir in vanilla and almonds.
- 11 pour over baked layer, spread evenly.
- 12 bake until light brown and set- about 15-20 minutes.
- 13 cool, then cut squares, then cut squares diagonally.
