Baked Apple Butterscotch Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups sliced apples, mixed with
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan, combine 1 cup brown sugar, and cornstarch, 1/4 cup butter.
  • 2 stir in 1 cup water; cook over low heat until thickened.
  • 3 pour mixture into a lightly buttered 10x6-inch baking dish.
  • 4 in a bowl, combine sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and 2/3 cup brown sugar.
  • 5 blend in 1/4 cup butter and the 1/2 cup milk, stirring just until dampened.
  • 6 stir in the sliced apples with 1/3 cup brown sugar.
  • 7 pour apple batter over syrup in baking dish.
  • 8 bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
