A Different Banana Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons salted butter, chilled
- 2 -3 bananas, cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 3/4 cup sugar, plus
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup salted butter, plus
- 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted.
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 melt the chilled butter over medium heat.
- 3 sprinkle bananas with the 1 tblsp sugar and add to butter in skillet stir frequently until soft and slightly caramelized.
- 4 set aside to cool.
- 5 in bowl combine eggs and the remaining sugar and beat until creamy.
- 6 gradually add flour and baking powder.
- 7 add melted butter beating to blend.
- 8 add the caramelized bananas and gently stir with a wooden spoon.
- 9 scrape into a floured loaf pan.
- 10 bake in the center of oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
